Abstract

Based on a technical advisory type consultancy and, as part of an inter-institutional work group, a plan was developed for early response and recovery in the face of sanitary and phytosanitary emergencies caused by disasters, with the aim of providing a solution to the National need to improve the knowledge in this regard, strengthen institutional capacity and planning processes to achieve the reduction and/or mitigation of impacts in the agricultural sector through the identification and analysis of strategies used in other countries to deal with natural disasters under the One Health approach. Each one of the actors involved is identified, as well as the roles and functions associated with them, among which the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management and the National Committees for knowledge, risk reduction and disaster management stand out.. The general classification of disasters allows addressing management options oriented towards pertinent and timely intervention through the Livestock emergency guidelines and standards (LEGS).
